This was a humor topic at Twitter, and these are the best ones - the idea is fictitious titles that didn't make it.. not real failed ones (some are posting Cat Ballou and Paint Your Wagon!) ..a more accurate title for this subject might have been "Rejected Titles"
These were the best ones to me, out of literally thousands:
Tracy Ullman's "Seven Brides for Every Brother", a polygamist musical (from her TV show, hilarious; it starred Paulie from the Sopranos, or Tracy playing Tony Sirico!)
Remember the A La Mode (this was mine)
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Film Festival
Gunfight at the Golden Corral
Dances with a Fistful of Dollars
Bring Me the Head of Linguine Alfredo
Oklahomophobia
Pushing and Shoving at the O.K. Corral
A Fistful of Dy-no-mite (a comedy)
How the West was Fun
McCain and Mrs. Miller (photo top?)
McCabe and Dennis Miller
McCabe and Phyllis Diller
1901: A Stagecoach Odyssey
The Decidedly Average Six
My Relatively Sufficient Clementine
The Man Who Accidently Jostled Liberty Valance
Half-Past High Noon
She Wore a Yellow Cardigan
The Yodeling Contest at the O.K. Corral
The Good, the Bad, and Those Only a Mother Could Love
The Good, the Decent, and the Mildly Attractive
How the West Got Its Groove Back
The In-Law Josie Wales
Dances With the Stars
Taco Bravo
Little House in Foreclosure
Turban Cowboy ("not a western but you gotta love it anyway")
Butch Casually and Some Dunce Kid (from Mad Magazine)
Fistfight at the OK Bar and Grill
3:10 to Yuma With a Layover in Flagstaff
$3.10 to Yuma
3:10 to Yomama
Plain High Drifter (Mad mag?)
The Treasure of the Sierra Leone (The Treasure of Sergio Leone, maybe better?)
The Sons of Katie Couric
She Wore a Pabst Blue Ribbon
Tint Your Wagon (also Pimp My Wagon)
The Loan Arranger
Oh man, "The In-Law Josey Wales" is a movie I'd like to see. Domestic comedy where Josey Wales goes from the western prairie to the big city to meet the in-laws--hilarity ensues. This is great.
ReplyDeleteWould you mind if I posted your most recent list (the critics' choice vs. Best Picture winners) on my blog? I'd definitely link it. This is a great resource you guys have got.
